Smiling Improves Mood


The simple act of smiling activates emotional circuitry in the brain that boosts positive mood. And smiling at others improves their mood as well. If you are working to improve your mood, a light smile is recommended. Leonardo DiCaprio does it well. Remember, maintaining a negative facial expression (e.g., furrowed brows or frown) takes 3x the energy as maintaining a light facial expression.
